Custom charters with owner Capt. Brian Clancy are available for camp guests and others. We offer both fly and light-tackle fishing for redfish, speckled trout, and a variety of other seasonal species. With decades of experience, we adapt to your fishing abilities, interests, and style.

Skiff and Gear

You'll be guided out of an 18-foot Hell's Bay Waterman skiff powered by a 70 hp four-stroke engine and equipped with comfortable, side-by-side seating for anglers. The Waterman — with its extremely shallow draft and quiet hull — is ideal for sight-fishing here in the northern Mosquito Lagoon.

You're certainly welcome to bring your own tackle, but we provide top-quality G. Loomis spinning rods paired with Shimano reels and, for fly fishermen, G. Loomis rods and Abel reels.

What's Included and What to Bring

All necessary tackle, bait, ice, and cold drinks (water, diet and regular soft drinks) are included. When fishing with a licensed guide, all permits and licenses are included. 

It's always cooler in the winter and hotter in the summer when you're on the water. Dress accordingly for maximum comfort. Polarized sunglasses (preferably top-quality, like Costa) are a must for sight-fishing. Wear comfortable, soft-soled shoes.

PLEASE NOTE that when fishing on your own you most possess a valid Florida saltwater fishing license. If fishing in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, which comprises much of Mosquito Lagoon, you must also have a current, signed  MINWR, fishing permit. The permit is free and self-issuing. Simply download, print, and sign it.

A Note from Capt. Brian Clancy

Fishing is both my livelihood and my passion. If I'm not guiding, you'll most likely see me out there on the lagoon fishing and or scouting, making sure I'm on fish for you.

This area became my home in the early '60s when my Dad retired from the Air Force and started his second career at the space center. His love for fishing had a long-lasting effect on me. Luckily I've been able to fish all over the globe — Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Ireland, the Bahamas(Andros), Mexico, and Turks and Caicos, to name a few.

As good as some of those places are, they make me appreciate what a special place the Mosquito Lagoon is. The area gets a lot attention, and I've been fortunate to appear in publications such as Florida Sportsman, Sport Fishing, and Fly Fishing in Salt Waters. I've also done a few TV shows over the years, including Sport Fishing Television, Shallow Water Angler, Fins and Skins, and Tarpon Bay Tales.

All fun stuff, but the best part of my job is seeing my anglers catch fish and enjoy the Mosquito Lagoon.

There is only one place I fish professionally and that's right here in the Mosquito Lagoon. My daily contact with these waters allows me to help my clients fish in a variety of ways using fly, live bait and artificials.

Charter Rates

Trips for one or two anglers are $450 for five hours. Additional time is $50/hour.

For larger parties, additional guides and skiffs can be coordinated.

A $100 deposit is required to reserve your date(s). In the event your captain determines the weather is unsuitable for fishing, your deposit will be refunded or applied to another day — your choice.
